| To help astrologers and also the casual researcher to discover the perfect star sign matches, there are several qualifying categories that the love star signs are divided into.
Triplices are the four elements of: fire, air, earth and water and each element contains three star signs. which is the reason for the name triplice.
Quadruplices are the next category that will help us to find our star sign matches. In astrology the quadruplices show us the three different energy types. Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable give us the three categories and these each contain four signs which is the reason for their name.
The next group that help to classify star sign compatibility show us direct links to our star sign matches:
Conjunction
If you meet someone who is born under the same sign as you then you are both in conjunction with each other. For example a Pisces with another Pisces would be a pairing in conjunction. You will be sharing similar personality traits and characteristics with a match that is in conjunction and while this may make a compatible relationship, it can sometimes lead to problems.
The similarities of a conjunction pairing can become too much to handle and may cause one to become bored or frustrated. However, conjunction matches often do lead to long and happy relationships.
Trine
The trine pairing occurs when two different signs which are together in the same triplice or element come together. For example Cancer and Pisces share the water element and Leo and Sagittarius share the fire element.
Trine is considered to be a very good pairing for star sign compatibility because both partners share many common interests but do not have the exact match of personality that occurs with conjunction. Trine pairings make very good relationships and long term loving partnerships.
Sextile
Sextile is the pairing of signs that unlike trine do not have the same elements but share compatible elements. Fire and Air are compatible as are Earth and Water. Thus Leo, from fire and Gemini, from Air would be a sextile pairing. Pisces from water and Capricorn from Earth would be a further example.
Sextile relationships can go along very well and they may have lots of love and affection for each other but they may be lacking in the sexual spark. Sextile pairings can often be based on mutual respect.
Square
Square pairings are when two incompatible elements come together. These combinations would be Earth and Fire, Water and Fire, Earth and Air, water and Air. Thus Virgo (earth) and Aries (Fire) and Scorpio (Water) and Libra (air) would be examples of square pairings.
Square relationships can be rather anxious and stressful at times and rarely lead to a fulfilled and loving relationship.
These are guidelines to using star sign matches for seeking a loving relationship. There are several other aspects that need to be taken into account for an accurate pairing, for example the exact planetary alignment for each partners birth. There are many variations within each month so that one Virgo may not be exactly the same as the next and so on. One Taurus may be born on the cusp and have many aspects of the sign it was born close to and so differ from another Taurus. So for example it could be that you are in a square relationship and it is working for you and if so then that is wonderful. You could be in a trine pairing and it is not working.
