|Subject: Relationships are the School and Playground of Life Wed Aug 31, 2011 1:49 pm|| |
Relationships are what our spiritual and earthly life is about. Relationships teach us, inspire us and comfort us; when love is shared there is a healing power at work equal to no other. Relationships help us express who we truly are. One would not develop freely in this world without being understood by at least one person. When we are looking for a relationship, whether it is love or friendship, we attract ourselves. Life is relationships and all life is consciousness.
Our first relationship in life is with our parents or the adults around us. We are taught our self-worth in early childhood. We believe and accept whatever our parents tell us. If we were nurtured, loved and praised by the adults around us we would have the feelings of acceptance and an essence of wholeness. As a child if one was ignored and never praised it would be detrimental to his well being. He would not know how to praise himself. One would not be conscious of his own true worth, and he would have limiting ideas that would be resistant to change. These restrictive ideas become deeply ingrained in our subconscious and become limitations in life. Only when we are aware that we could change our thought patterns and replace them with loving and nurturing feelings about ourselves would we be able to heal.
The most significant relationship of all is the relationship with ourselves, or the God within us. Our experience of love originates within us. Relationship is what our spiritual life is about. We learn that not everyone is at the same level of consciousness. Interaction within a relationship is always changing because consciousness is always evolving. There is a Divine urge within us pushing each one’s life forward. Life is the out-picturing of consciousness and when consciousness and goals change sometimes relationships change. When these relationships change, know that you are blessed when someone leaves your life and you are blessed when someone enters your life.
The primary human and significant relationship in our lives is the intimate love relationship between two people. This relationship is a conditional one based on our emotions and conditions in life. They may be positive or negative; they may encompass happiness, love, anger, or hate. Our feelings are intimate, hidden inner responses to our relationships and circumstances in life. They may be pleasing or painful. Love relationships are not meant to make us feel whole and complete. Too often this mistake is made at the human level and a co-dependent relationship is in place. This type of relationship is the most limiting environment in which to live. One must know that he is already complete within himself. When two whole people come together, it is a liberating relationship. When one is in a nurturing relationship it provides an environment of peace, love and harmony. It becomes an area of growth in life.
The fundamental purpose of life is to unfold our inner splendor and progressively achieve union of the human and divine self.
